Prior to forming INNOVATIVE Employee Management Company LLC, Mark was a Director of Florida’s largest independent accounting and consulting firm and one of the top 50 firms in the United States of America. Mark was responsible for developing the Firm’s healthcare consulting division, an organization which provided health care consulting services in the areas of Medicare compliance, HIPAA compliance, operational reviews, business office reviews, strategic planning, business development, review of employee benefits including workforce studies, and traditional accounting services like estate planning, tax planning, tax compliance, accounting, and auditing. Mark worked with a variety of organizations including hospitals, physician practice management companies, group practices, integrated delivery systems, independent practice associations, independent practitioners, home health agencies, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, manufactures, and other service providers.
From 1995 through 1998, Mark founded and directed his own public accounting practice focused on advising small to mid size organization. Mark was providing management services in the areas of review of internal controls, development of budgets, selections and implementation of accounting software, profitability consulting as well as providing traditional public accounting services.
Mark began his professional accounting career with Ernst & Young, LLP. As a Tax Manager, Mark was responsible for providing tax and accounting services to numerous physician practices, multi-state integrated health care systems and various other business entities.
Throughout his career Mark was asked by his clients to assist them with retaining their best and brightest employees while at the same time make their business more competitive and attractive to future employees. His clients were also concerned with reducing the risk of having employees in an effort to protect themselves and the assets of their company. Mark’s solution to these issues was to align his clients with organizations which could provide an affordable comprehensive benefit package, while at the same time develop a safe and prosperous work environment.
